Job Title: Coordinator of Religious Education

Location: Okinawa, Japan

Duties:

• Shall be responsible for r general coordination and enhancement of religious education programs and events.
• Must plan, resource, and execute the annual Vacation Bible School for the specified religious service.
• Coordinate activities with the individual(s) responsible for other programs and events.
• Recruit, train, assign, and supervise teachers and volunteers in the Religious Education Program.
• Must play keyboard/piano based on the music selected by the specified service Music Director and Service Chaplain for the scheduled religious services.
• Review all religious education schedules and settle or propose how to settle scheduling conflicts.
• Recruit, train, assign, and supervise all teachers and volunteers. Provide a list of specified volunteers, for religious education ministries the coordinator directly oversees.
• Assist teachers to become trained and certified by the AMS.
• Organize and/or assist in Sacramental Preparation Programs in conjunction with the Catholic Chaplain and Religious Education Catechists; prepares, coordinates, and transmits all sacramental records for the Archdiocese of Military Service.

Requirements:

• Shall have a High School diploma, GED Certificate.
• Must have a minimum of one year of experience.
• Must be proficient at playing an instrument (piano/organ) and must be able to read music.
• Be a certified Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS) Catechist or provide documentation of enrollment in the AMS certification process.
