SNT-TC-1A Level One Thermographic Imaging Training and Certification

Duties:
The candidate, from the 21st of August until the 26th of August, shall provide all training materials, equipment, final exam, certifications, end of course surveys (Certificates of Completion and Student Course Surveys should be submitted prior to candidate departure to the place of performance), and curriculum as listed below:
1. Introductions.
2. Overview for Certification.
3. Introduction to Thermography to include: Definition of Thermography, Night Vision Comparison, Application of Thermography and common application examples.
4. Camera Operation discussion, application and understanding of parameters, optical focus, thermal tuning and contrast adjustments, Camera measurement limits, tools and parameters, object size and distance relationships.
5. IR Science discussion to include fundamentals of Thermal Science, absolute and relative temperature scales, demonstrate difference between units of measurement and temperature conversion between degree C/F differentials, heat and temperature differences demonstrations, description of electromagnetic spectrum, qualitative and quantitative thermography, identification of infrared wave bands and temperature effects on emitted infrared energy to objects.
6. IR Camera Calibration to include compensation of surroundings measurement techniques, description of specular and diffuse reflector differences, correction of camera settings due to atmospheric transmit losses and concept of reflected temperature. Also discuss emitted radiation correlation to temperature and demonstrate abilities of measuring factors that are targeted limiting emissivity.
7. Heat Transfer defined with explanations between Steady State and Transient heat transfer, multiple thermal patterns identification, wind speed temperature differences and identification of thermal capacitance uses.
8. Overview of Creating an Inspection Report and recommend input for Condition Found Report with recommendations for corrective action requirements.
9. Student Practical Applications of Thermography demonstrated before instructor to with IR Camera and create report to include Electrical, Mechanical Applications and facility/building diagnostics.
