Pianist

Job Title: Pianist
Job Type: Part-Time
Location: Pacific Victors Chapel, USAG Humphreys, Korea

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of formal training as an undergraduate Piano or Organ Performance Major (transcripts required).
• At least two years of experience as a church or chapel musician within the last five years.
• Proficiency in sight-reading hymns and leading four-part harmony.
• Ability to perform traditional liturgical and other worship music by ear.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
• Ability to substitute as a choir conductor when needed.
• Previous experience with military chapel programs is preferred.

Duties:

Worship Services:

• Provide musical accompaniment for Sunday worship services, scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with preparation starting 20 minutes prior to service.
• Perform musical elements such as hymns, prelude, offertory, and postlude.

Rehearsals:

• Participate in weekly rehearsals, typically one hour in length, as scheduled by the senior chaplain.

Special Services:

• Offer musical support for up to 12 special services annually, including accompanying congregational singing and special performances.
• Participate in rehearsals for these special services as required.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the chapel leadership to select and prepare music that aligns with worship themes.
• Lead and support choirs, soloists, and congregational singing during services and rehearsals.

Professional Conduct:

• Maintain a professional demeanor and well-groomed appearance during all services and rehearsals.
• Safeguard government-provided equipment and follow all security protocols for accessing the facility.
