Job Title: Music Director

Location: Langley, VA

Travel: N/A

Duties:

• The applicant shall work closely with other choir directors, musicians, and chaplains to maintain an up to date music library.
• The applicant shall prepare/conduct rehearsals for instrumentalists and singers for each service.
• The applicant shall lead congregational and choral singing and provide instrumental accompaniment for all Gospel services and special services as determined by the Wing Chaplain
• The applicant shall ensure security, proper use, and cleanliness of all facilities and equipment utilized in conjunction with duties and programs of the Gospel choir.
• The applicant shall maintain communication with choir members, instrumentalists, and the Gospel service lead chaplain.
• The applicant shall demonstrate integrity through a moral, upright lifestyle consistent with Christian church teachings.

Qualifications:

• The applicant must have the ability to read music and lead a choir and congregation, while providing accompaniment on piano or organ/keyboard.
• The applicant must be able to play and lead music from various Christian traditions including traditional, contemporary, and praise and worship.

Education/Experience:

• The applicant must have a minimum of two years’ experience directing church choirs in traditional hymns, Gospel, and current contemporary Christian music.
