Location: 86th Medical Group, Ramstein AB, Germany
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 0600–1900 (flexible within 40 hours/week)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the 86th MDG Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP).

  • Conduct annual Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) and develop the Infection Prevention & Control Program Plan (IPCPP) and Annual Summary.

  • Perform surveillance, inspections, and data analysis on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), MDROs, and community-acquired infections.

  • Guide MTF in accreditation readiness (The Joint Commission, AFI 44-108, CDC, OSHA).

  • Provide staff training, Newcomers’ Orientation, and annual IPC education per OSHA and DHA requirements.

  • Advise leadership, committees, and multidisciplinary teams (IPCF, ECOMS, EOC, Patient Safety, etc.).

  • Participate in outbreak investigations, epidemiological reviews, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.

  • Review and advise on facility construction, renovation, and service contracts with IPC implications.

  • Maintain IPC files, reports, and compliance documentation per AFMAN 33-363.

  • Serve as subject matter expert during emergency preparedness, disaster exercises, and biohazard/epidemic response.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Epidemiology, or Microbiology.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ infection prevention/control experience (with 2 years in past 4 years).

  • Completion of EPIC course (Fort Sam Houston) within 6 months of start.

  • 10 CEUs annually in IPC-relevant training; maintain BLS certification.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of national IPC guidelines (CDC, APIC, AAMI, AORN, etc.).

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
