Duties:

  • Conduct job analysis and evaluate position descriptions according to OPM classification standards, determining appropriate series, grade, and title.
  • Apply position classification and management principles to ensure roles align with regulations, organizational plans, and budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain competitive levels and sensitivity levels for GPO positions to ensure accuracy and consistency across classifications.
  • Support managers and HR staff by providing position management, organizational design advice, and classification training.
  • Develop and maintain a classification database and participate in workgroups focused on classification and position management.
  • Lead projects to assess current roles, review OPM classification standards, and implement new standards across GPO.
  • Provide responses to classification appeals, workforce restructuring, and organization-wide studies, ensuring compliance with federal HR standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant HR experience, with knowledge of federal classification standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with classification systems (e.g., MonsterClass).
  • Strong understanding of federal HR policies, Fair Labor Standards Act, and position classification regulations.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of federal HR concepts, classification standards, and organizational design.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide training and draft comprehensive evaluation statements.
  • Highly organized, able to manage classification projects, and detail-oriented in assessing position accuracy.
