Job Title:  Catholic Worship Service Choir Director

Location: Luke AFB, Arizona

Duties:

• Shall Coordinate music requirements to support Sunday Masses, Masses for Special Feast Days, Funeral/Memorial Services (as requested), or other occasions including weekly practice for same and lead the music accompanist at all performances and rehearsals for these Masses.
• Direct all worship services providing preludes, postludes, and music for congregational singing at appropriate parts of the Mass.
• Assist the Catholic Priest in selecting suitable music for worship services, special community programs, and other services performed as part of the Catholic program.
• Recruit volunteers to participate in musical groups.
• Conduct oneself in a professional and business-like manner.

Education & Qualifications:

• • A Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music; preferred but not required.

• • Minimum two years of directing experience within the past five years in a church setting.

• • Preference will be given to those with experience directing Catholic Choirs.

• • Strong preference will be given if that experience is in a military setting.

• • The ability to maintain healthy, functional interpersonal relationships with co-workers, chapel staff, and parishioners.

• • Possess a high level of technical musical ability, be able to sight-read music, and successfully pass an audition.

• • Be able to provide instruction in music reading to members of the worship team.

• • Possess no negative findings in a background check that would preclude working with children.

• • Submit a résumé including academic and work-related references.
